lyrics
In the depths of gods and the furrows of man
In the sinews of the warrior
In the thoughts of the fallen
Ride forth, ride swift
Daylight soon ceaseth
Bloodshed soon begineth
Caught in a maelstrom of perforating thoughts
A spear is thrown
The die is cast
Ride forth, ride swift
Daylight soon ceaseth
Bloodshed soon begineth
Staggering steps in forests deep
Ominous whispers the wind brings
Arcane relicts awake from sleep
Betrayers onto the precipice cling
O, how I’ve yearned to honour the inexorable gods of war
O, how I’ve suffered the sorrow of fallen men’s hearts
Fog-dwellers lie blinded in disdain
Cloud-walkers appear in numinous forays
Vibrant memories of a remote past
Calls me home at last
They call me home at last
Ride forth, ride swift
Twilight soon reacheth
Death soon reapeth

A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub
