lyrics
Flames fade
Night sweeps through now barren lands
Dreams end
Silence permeates once holy grounds
Wanderers of time lay lifeless on the shores of the morrow
Eidolons of the past bind our minds in deceit
Yet the dark glow smoulders beneath all the squalor
Primeval forces pulsate in the swift currents of time
Weaved webs of fate cast upon terra incognita
Archaic wisdom elucidated
Thunderous skies in resplendent ferocity quake the spirit
Auguries of war calls kinsmen to arms
The hour of the wolf draws nigh
Blood rushes, sinews stretch
Yearning hearts in fiery desire
Spears hurl, shields splinter
Torpid limbs in impetuous rapture
The threshold of perception shattered
Spiritual magnificence manifested
Blood rushes, sinews stretch
Yearning hearts in fiery desire
Spears hurl, shields splinter
Torpid limbs in impetuous rapture
The fires rekindle, the seeds sprout
Somnolent giants within us rouse
A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken
I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74
What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub
